Seeds Naterra

The Brazilian company Sementes Naterra was founded in 1975 in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo as a general agricultural company. Livestock holding in 1976 took a giant evolutionary step forward and the need for improved pasture varieties led the company to add forage grass seeds to its line of products.

These Panicum and Brachiaria varieties were initially commercially produced by a small farmer who felt they would be the future of livestock holding in Brazil.

After the initial expansion in its native region, Naterra began to expand nationally and was quickly recognized as a leader in this agricultural sector.

In 1989 the company took its first steps in the export market by exporting to three countries. This first step solidified its presence in the international market. After two decades in the market, Naterra had the know-how and a qualified team, yet something was still missing: boldness and innovation.

In 2003, Wolf & Wolf Seeds Inc. acquired the patents and trademarks of “Sementes Naterra®” and blended the traditional values of the tropical and subtropical forage seed markets with the vision , boldness, and innovation needed for the 21st century to create a company that would be able offer its clients the highest quality seed, technical support, and the means to sustainably thrive in the challenges of modern agriculture.

Wolf & Wolf Seeds Inc., through Wolf Seeds do Brasil, which now owns the "Sementes Naterra®" trademark, now exports to more than 45 companies and has become one of the principal companies in the tropical and subtropical seed market and the agricultural sector as a whole by promoting agricultural sustainability and environmental responsibility, by actively pursuing innovative solutions for a changing world, disseminating new technologies and educating farmers through workshops and seminars throughout Latin America.
